Kenya AA Meru Riankune

KENYA - renowned for growing the world's sweetest, chocolatey coffees. Meru is one of Kenya's coffee growing regions and is nestled against Mt. Kenya. The Riankune cooperative is a modest size group of approximately 350 farmers, who feel fortunate to be located in this land blessed with perfect conditions for growing some of the best coffee on the globe. Our company president, Ruth Ann Church, visited the Riankune cooperative in February 2011 and was honored to meet all the governing board members, including the coop president, who was 90 years old! This coffee was one of the farm's premier micro-lots in the 2010 season. It's been carefully stored in climate-controlled conditions, with air-tight packaging to preserve its great taste.

Decaffeination process: precision process (uses methylene chloride in harmless amounts. Removes caffeine without disturbing the rest of the bean.)

Cupping notes: captivating aroma of sweet chocolate; flavor has a warm, honey toasted almond and pleasant dark chocolate twang. Not the traditional profile of a Kenyan, but a well-rounded one. Short aftertaste. Moderate acidity.
